Registration Dates
Families may register their students for the 2024-2025 school year by:
- Registering online beginning July 15, 2024.
- Registering in person at your child's campus beginning July 22, 2024.
Returning Students
For students that attended Kilgore ISD during the 2023-2024 school year, registration for the 2024-2025 school year is an easy two-step process (can be completed in any order).
1. Complete the Residency Verification.
- May be completed online beginning July 15, 2024.
- May be completed in person at your child's campus beginning July 22, 2024
- Proof of Residency
- A current gas, water or electric bill (phone and cable bills not accepted
- OR
- A recent Rusk or Gregg county property tax statement
- OR
- A rental/lease agreement
- AND
- A valid Driver's License or other photo identification

2. Complete the Campus Registration
- May be completed online beginning July 15, 2024
- OR
- May be completed at your child's campus beginning July 22, 2024.
Registration for NEW Students
Registration for the 2024-2025 school year will begin the week of July 22, 2024 at campuses. Students new to Kilgore ISD are invited to register for their student at the appropriate campus.
Students must be enrolled by a parent or legal guardian.

Students must be enrolled by a parent or legal guardian.

- Certified Birth Certificate
- Up to Date Immunization Records*
- Proof of Residency in Kilgore ISD (gas, water, electric bill, property tax statement or a rental/lease agreement)*
- Most Recent Report Card/Withdrawal Slip from Previous School
- High School Transcript (if applicable)

Proof of Residency
All parents of KISD students are asked to confirm that their residence is located within the bounds of Kilgore ISD
OR
let us know that they would like to attend a KISD campus even though they reside in another district. We want to welcome every student that we can.
How do you show proof of residency?
It is easy and only takes a couple of moments. You'll need a photo ID and any of the following documents:
- A current gas, water or electric bill (phone and cable bills not accepted)
OR
- A recent Rusk or Gregg county property tax statement
OR
- A rental/lease agreement

Transfer Students
New Out-of-District Student Transfer Request Requirements:
- Transfer application fee of $50.00 per student, with an immediate family total fee not to exceed $150.00 must accompany each out-of-district student transfer request. Application fee(s) are non-refundable.
- Only completed applications with accompanying application fee and required documentation will be accepted by district personnel.
- New out-of-district student transfer requests will be considered as space allows and will be considered on a first-come, first-serve basis.
- Timelines for new out-of-district student transfer requests:
- April: application timeline begins
- Approval/Denial notifications will be mailed to parent/guardian within 10 business days of completed application
- February 1st of current school year: Kilgore ISD will stop accepting out-of-district student transfer requests for remainder of school year
- Each new out-of-district student transfer request MUST include the following:
- Proof of residence in “home” district (current gas, water, electric bill)
- Current student report card
- Current Official High School Transcripts from “home” school (if applicable)
- Current Official Attendance Report from “home” school (other than report card)
- Current Official Discipline Report from “home” school (other than report card)
- Prior year STAAR testing results (3rd-12th)
Continuing Out-of-District Student Transfer Request Requirements:
- Transfer application fee of $50.00 per student, with an immediate family total fee not to exceed $150.00 must accompany each out-of-district student transfer request. Application fee(s) are non-refundable.
- Continued approval of out-of-district transfer into Kilgore ISD each school year is not guaranteed. The student’s attendance, discipline, grades, prior year STAAR testing results (3rd-12th) and parent cooperation are many of the factors that will be evaluated prior to the upcoming school year.
- Continuing out-of-district transfer students should complete and return the application fee and application by May 31st in order to be considered for the upcoming school year. Applications returned after the deadline will be changed from “continuing” to “new” and will only be considered as space allows and will be considered on a first-come/first-serve basis.
- Only completed applications with accompanying application fee will be accepted by district personnel
- Completed applications should be submitted to the Kilgore ISD Office of Student Services.
- Timelines for continuing out-of-district transfer students:
- April: Communication to the parents of all current Kilgore ISD out-of-district student transfers will occur and application timeline begins
- May 31: Deadline for continuing out-of-district transfer students to return application fee and completed application. Applications returned after this deadline will be changed from “continuing” to “new” and will only be considered as space allows and will be considered on a first-come/first-serve basis
- June: Approval/Denial notifications will be mailed to parent/guardian
