Many teachers and classrooms use the Remind service as a way to send text messages from the classroom to students and parents.  This has been a very popular feature to keep families up to date with classroom events.

Kilgore ISD has been notified that beginning on Monday, January 28, Verizon will no longer deliver text (SMS) messages from Remind to Verizon cell phones.  Users with other carriers are not affected by this announcement.

Who is Affected?  KISD parents and students that use the Remind service

What will happen?  Effective January 28, 2019, Verizon reports that they will no longer deliver text (SMS) messages from the Remind service.

How can we still get the Remind Notifications?  There are two ways to continue receiving Remind notifications:

OPTION 1 - Recommended:  Download the free Remind app on the iOS App Store, on Google Play, or at rmd.me/a. If you don’t already have a Remind account, create one using the phone number where you receive Remind texts. Make sure to enable push notifications from Remind on your phone.

OPTION 2:  Go to Remind.com on any computer. As above, if you don’t already have a Remind account, create one using the phone number where you receive Remind texts. Turn on email notifications for your account so you don’t miss any messages.
