CURRICULUM DIRECTORS NAMED

Zevely Hatcher, an assistant principal at Maude Laird Middle School, was elected as a curriculum director, and Dr. Elizabeth Jodry, presently Director of Grants and Assessments Magnolia ISD, was also named a curriculum director, both effective July 1, 2008.

ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL CHANDLER ELEMENTARY

Deana Griffith was named an assistant principal at Chandler Elementary, effective July 1, 2008.  Presently Mrs. Griffith is test coordinator at Chandler Elementary School.

OTHER PERSONNEL ACTION

Resignations were announced from Mindy Avedikian, Shannon Rodenbaugh, Tammie Sinclair, Lisa Schumacher, and Deana Griffith.

Leah Mann was employed to teach first grade at Chandler Elementary and Ruth Williams to teach seventh/eighth grade English at Maude Laird Middle School, both for the 2008-2009 school year. Rosa Thomas was rehired as a first grade teacher for the coming school year.

DELINQUENT TAX COLLECTION CONTRACT

The Board of Trustees approved the delinquent tax collection contract with Linebarger Goggan Blair Sampson, LLP, as presented.

SUMMER SCHOOL

Summer school plans for in-district students only were approved as presented, with a $40 fee per one-half hour credit.  Further, the board approved summer school for limited English proficient students and for at-risk students.

CAFETERIA MEAL PRICES INCREASED

The Board of Trustees approved increases in cafeteria meal prices beginning in August 2008 with PreK through 5^th grade breakfast price to be $1.25, lunch $1.50.  Sixth grade through twelfth grade breakfast will increase to $1.50 and lunch $1.75.  Visitors prices were increased to $2.00 for breakfast and $3.00 for lunch.
