Mission Statement

The Kilgore Independent School District has as its mission to provide an educational climate that strives for excellence and involves a partnership of students, educators, parents, and patrons working together to provide maximum opportunities and encouragement for the development of productive citizens.

 

District Goals

  • The Kilgore Independent School District will establish a culture of high expectations for all students, resulting in continuous growth in student performance in all TAKS-tested content areas.

 

  • All limited English proficient students will become proficient in English and reach high academic standards.

 

  • The district will provide and retain highly qualified personnel to provide a quality education for all students.

 

  • The district will establish learning environments for all students that are safe, drug-free, and conducive to learning.

 

  • The district will maintain an effective dropout prevention program which encourages all students to obtain a high school diploma.

 

Statement of Objectives

Parent and Community Involvement

Parents and patrons will form partnerships to work with school personnel for school and educational improvement.

Student Learning

Every opportunity will be afforded all students to enable them to develop skills for leading productive lives in a complex and changing society.

Dropout Prevention

The district will maintain an effective dropout prevention program which encourages all students to obtain a high school diploma.

  4.

Curriculum and Instruction

A well balanced curriculum will be provided to enable each student to reach his our her academic potential.

  5.

Personnel

The district will provide and retain the best qualified personnel to provide a quality education for all students.

  6.

Performance

The district's students will compare favorably to state, national and international standards.

  7.

Organization and Management

The educational organization and management of the district will strive to be productive, efficient, and accountable.

  8.

Curriculum Development Research

The instructional program shall be in a continuous state of development and improvement based on the latest research and documented students needs.

  9.

Technology

Technology will be implemented in the areas of instruction, staff development, management and administration.
