District Goals
I.
High Expectations-
a.
Determine fair and consistent guidelines for all students and
require equal enforcement of these guidelines
b.
Make all students accountable for their actions.
(Academic/attendance/behavioral)
c.
Encourage and emphasize the enrollment of minority students in
advanced academic classes (GT. /Dual Credit/ A.P.) at an equal ratio
to the district breakdown.
d.
Assume that all minorities can and will attend college.
e.
Teacher attitudes should promote the importance of work, with an emphasis on
a strong core curriculum, college prepatory instruction, teachers
should not accept
any less.
f.
Failure is not an option. Do whatever it takes to generate
success.
g.
Teachers must require participation of the student in the daily life
of the classroom to build ownership and responsibility for learning.
II.
Building Relationships
a.
Communicate through e-mail, websites, phone calls, newsletters,
and personal conferences.
b.
Opportunities for parents to get to know teachers through programs,
celebrations, and projects participation.
c.
Involve churches, community groups, and businesses in the academic
life of students through partnerships, mentor programs and other
school opportunities.
d.
Make a concerted effort to involve yourself in the life of the
student.
