On February 28, the Kilgore ISD Board of Trustees unanimously called a bond election for May 14, 2011. Contents of the school bond package were developed by a 50-member facility committee consisting of parents, local citizens, business leaders and school staff. The committee met over the course of one year, studied the district’s current educational facilities and worked to develop a recommendation for a bond election to address KISD facilities.

The proposed bond will address:

  • Aging and inefficient campuses that are costly to the district’s maintenance and operations budget

  • Campus overcrowding

  • Educational environment deficiencies

KigloreISDBond.com has been created to inform the Kilgore ISD community about what is proposed in the bond election. On this website, you will find proposed project information, tax rate information, voting information, a list of frequently asked questions and a place to submit your bond-related question to the district. Several bond presentations will be scheduled throughout the community as well.

The last day to register to vote in this election is April 14. If you are not registered to vote, we encourage you to do so. Early Voting begins May 2 and lasts until May 10. There will be several opportunities to vote on KISD campuses during this time. Election Day is Saturday, May 14.

Please don’t hesitate to call or stop by my office if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Jody Clements, Superintendent
